About Us

We are Dursley Male Voice Choir - we sing music from a wide range of genres including popular, musical theatre, classical, jazz, folk, sea shanties - you name it, we've sung it! We perform frequently, normally 8-10 times a year. The social life of the choir plays a big part, join us in the pub after rehearsal or at a concert afterglow.

We rehearse on Wednesday evenings at Lister Hall in Dursley - new members are very welcome, for more information look under the Join Us tab.

Constitution and Charity Involvement

The constitution of the choir requires it to be non-political and non-sectarian. The object of the choir is to study and practice of choral music in order to foster public knowledge and appreciation of such music by public performance.

As well as our primary objective we aim to raise money for charities, local and national through our performances for which we only charge for costs incurred (e.g. travel expenses).  Over the years we have helped raise considerable funds towards the following causes:

  • R.N.L.I.

  • Hope for Tomorrow

  • Madame Curie Cancer Care

  • Gloucestershire Samaritans

  • Amnesty International

  • Cotswold Care Hospice

  • The Gloucester Regimental Museum

  • The Meningitis Trust

  • The Dragon Appeal

  • Wotton-U-E Community Sports Foundation

  • The Coracle Appeal in Padstow

  • Indian Ocean Tsunami Appeal

  • Dunblane Help Fund

  • Save the Children Fund

  • Water Aid

  • NICU Southmead Hospital

  • Stroud Foodbank

  • Yercombe Lodge

  • Ukrainian Appeal

  • Cotswold Canals Trust
